Upcoming FSSC 22000 Version 7

January 30, 2026

FSSC 22000 Version 7, is anticipated to be published in late Q1 or early Q2 this year (2026). The main
reasons that prompted the development of this version were:

  • Incorporating the new ISO 22002-x:2025 series on pre-requisite programs
  • Aligning of the Scheme with the GFSI benchmarking requirements v2024
  • Strengthening the requirements to support organizations in their contributions to meeting the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)
  • Providing a more defined structure for the division of food chain categories
  • Editorial changes and amendments as part of continuous improvement

In the meantime, FSSC 22000 Version 6 will continue to use the current ISO/TS 22002-X series.
While Version 7 is being develop, Version 6 will continue to be in use until the new version is
published. After the lease of FSSC 22000 Version 7 in Q1 or Q2 this year 2026, certified organizations
will have a 12-month transition period to update their food safety management system to the new
Version 7.
